About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead and optimize the technology strategy across a diverse group of companies within the service sector, with a particular focus on the hotel & tourism industry. The CTO will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing an innovative IT strategy that aligns with the organization’s operational needs and strategic goals. As a key member of the management board, you will ensure that the group's technological resources contribute to long-term business success, driving efficiency, scalability, and competitive advantage.
What is it all about:
Strategic Leadership: Define and implement a comprehensive IT strategy that supports the company’s objectives. Develop and communicate a clear vision for the IT organization, setting goals and aligning technology initiatives with business priorities.
IT Architecture Development: Evaluate the existing IT architecture and create a roadmap for a future-proof, scalable architecture. Lead the consolidation and optimization of IT systems to ensure seamless integration and efficiency.
Technology Selection & Implementation: Identify, assess, and deploy cutting-edge technologies that enhance operational efficiency and provide a strategic advantage. Ensure that technology choices align with the company's business units and long-term goals.
System & Platform Optimization: Continuously improve customer experience and system interaction by designing and adapting technological platforms. Drive innovation in system architecture to meet evolving business needs.
Vendor & Partner Management: Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with IT service providers. Oversee vendor selection, management, and performance to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Project Management: Lead and oversee all IT-related projects from concept through implementation. Ensure timely delivery, within scope and budget, while maintaining high standards of quality.
Technology Innovation: Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for competitive advantage. Propose innovative solutions to enhance the company's technological capabilities.
Cost & Risk Analysis: Analyze the financial and operational impact of technology decisions. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management to guide strategic planning.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the IT department, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Oversee recruitment, development, and retention of top talent.
Job Requirements:
Proven track record as a CTO or in a senior technical leadership role within the service sector, ideally within the hotel industry.
Extensive experience managing complex IT operations, including both internal teams and external partners.
Deep expertise in software development, IT infrastructure, and the strategic use of technology to drive business success.
Strong background in balancing competing priorities such as time-to-market, cost management, and operational efficiency.
Profound knowledge of software architectures, agile development methodologies, and the latest trends in technology (e.g., cloud computing, data ownership, social login).
Skilled in evaluating external partners, distinguishing sales pitches from technical capabilities, identifying over-promising, and understanding risks like vendor lock-in.
Strong business sense with the ability to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
Experience in developing IT strategies that enhance business value and drive growth.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and team management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of influencing at all levels of the organization.
Strong communication skills, preferably German or Italian
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

We are offering a full-time position, with a market-oriented overpayment depending on qualifications, experience, and skill set. You can expect a competitive salary.
