Job Title: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Our client is a recently funded HealthTech startup on a mission to revolutionize healthcare by creating a Health Data Marketplace powered by blockchain. Our platform enables secure, transparent, and efficient data exchanges, ensuring data provenance and empowering individuals, providers, and researchers to share health data in a decentralized, compliant way.

We’re looking for a CTO to lead our tech strategy, drive product development, and scale the platform as we build a game-changing solution for the healthcare industry.

As CTO, you’ll lead further development of their Health Data Marketplace, leveraging blockchain to ensure security and transparency. You’ll be responsible for shaping the technical vision, leading a growing engineering team, and ensuring the platform meets regulatory requirements. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll guide the product from concept to scaling, ensuring we build secure, scalable, and innovative technology.

Technical Strategy: Define and execute the overall tech vision, aligning it with business goals. Lead the development of a secure, scalable, and user-friendly platform.
Blockchain Integration: Oversee the use of blockchain to ensure data security, provenance, and transparent transactions. Guide smart contract and dApp development.
Product Development: Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle—from MVP to scaling. Ensure the platform is secure, compliant, and delivers value to healthcare stakeholders.
Data Security & Compliance: Ensure the platform adheres to healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and implements best practices in data security.
Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO and cross-functional teams to define product roadmaps and integrate tech with business strategy.
Scalability & Infrastructure: Lead infrastructure development to support growing user demand. Ensure high availability, security, and performance.
Stakeholder Communication: Communicate technical decisions and product updates clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including investors and clients.

8+ years of experience in tech leadership, with 3-5 years as a CTO or VP of Engineering in a startup.
Proven experience in building and scaling products from 0 to 1.
Strong expertise in blockchain technologies (e.g., Ethereum, smart contracts, decentralized apps).
Understanding of HealthTech regulations and data privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
Strong knowledge of modern tech stacks (e.g., Node.js, React, AWS, GCP) and cloud infrastructure.
Proven ability to lead and scale engineering teams, fostering innovation and collaboration.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Experience with decentralized identity management or health data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
Experience building secure, compliant systems in regulated industries.
Familiarity with Web3 technologies or blockchain applications in healthcare.
