Chief Technology Officer

UAV Talent is actively seeking an experienced Chief Technology Officer or Chief Engineer looking to step up, to join a dynamic and highly successful team, working in a pioneering aerospace company. This role works closely with the CEO/CFO and requires a highly technical (engineering) background as well as demonstrable leadership experience.

For this role, you must be based in the UK, or willing to relocate. It is an on-site role initially requiring in-person attendance, in addition to experience as a Chartered Engineer / Chief Engineer in Aerospace operations ideally.

The overall remit of the role is as follows:

· Define and execute the organisation’s technical vision, strategy, and long-term product roadmap;

· Act as the engineering authority, making critical decisions on design, quality, and compliance across all development projects and flight operations;

· Oversee engineering teams’ development and performance, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and maintaining high standards in technical processes and workflows;

· Drive innovation by monitoring emerging technologies and executing critical programmes to keep the company and its products competitive;

· Lead technical product ownership by defining requirements and prioritizing features to ensure products meet customer needs and regulatory standards.

As part of this role you will be responsible for undertaking activities such as:

· Technical Sign-Off: overall design and technical accountability for all products and services;

· Flight Safety Sign-Off: overall accountability for all flight operations, both civil and military

· Regulatory Approval: Responsible for assuring regulatory approval for flight operations across all products

· Road Mapping: Technical Road Map and Strategy Development and Maintenance for all leading products; Horizon Scanning

· Technical Product Ownership: Product configuration Management

· Key Customer Relationship Ownership

· Engineering Functional Management

· Manufacturing Development

· Engineering Processes

· Competitor Analysis

· Demonstrable Leadership Experience

· Strong Communications skills at board level and with key customer relationships

· Background in Technology: Technical Product development experience and responsibility

· Road Mapping Experience

· Flight test/R&D sign-off experience across civil/military domains

· Competitor, and Industry, awareness and understanding

 

· Robotics technology product experience

 Aerospace experience
