About the Role
As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will provide strategic leadership and technical direction to Qmet Tech Foundation. You will play a critical role in advancing technologies from Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 4 to TRL 7, ensuring successful commercialization and application of quantum sensing solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the technology team, spearheading critical initiatives in quantum sensing and metrology.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
- Project Oversight: Monitor project progress, identify challenges, and implement solutions to ensure seamless execution.
- Collaboration & Ecosystem Development: Promote a culture of teamwork and synergy among partner institutes, research organizations, stakeholders, and staff to efficiently fulfill shared service requirements.
- Operational Management: Contribute to the development and operational framework of the central facility, ensuring smooth functioning and efficiency.
- Fund Utilization Compliance: Ensure that financial resources are allocated appropriately, aligning with project goals and expenditure guidelines.
- Technology Commercialization: Evaluate quantum startups, oversee technology deliverables, and identify innovations ready for market adoption.
- Risk Management: Assess potential risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies.
- Facility Management: Oversee and optimize the operations of the quantum lab facility while contributing to the development and operational framework of the central facility.
Qualification & Experience:
- Ph.D./Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, Quantum Technologies, or a related field with a minimum 10+ years of experience in electronics development/quantum technologies, metrology, or related scientific domains.
Required Expertise:
- Proven expertise in transitioning technologies from TRL 4 to TRL 7 and managing commercialization processes.
- Experience in working with research institutions, startups, and commercialization teams.
- Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to oversee complex, multi disciplinary projects.
- Experience in risk assessment and mitigation strategies within high-tech R&D environments.
- Ability to manage laboratory operations, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
