About
Scorebuddy is a leading Quality Management SaaS platform for Contact Centres. 
By combining advanced AI Analytics with quality management, coaching and learning, we help hundreds of customers worldwide to be operationally efficient, scale their contact centres, improve agent performance and enhance overall customer experience. 

We are a globally successful SaaS company, serving a diverse international customer base with teams ranging in size from 20 to 10,000 end users. 
In November 2024 Scorebuddy successfully secured Private Equity investment of €5M from London based Foresight Group, providing the funding for a scaling and growth phase over the next three years. 
 
We are looking for an experienced and visionary technical leader to join our executive team and play a key role in driving technology strategy, AI innovation and engineering. You will lead the continued evolution of our platform while championing the next phase of AI-powered capabilities that are transforming the Quality Assurance and Customer Service landscapes. 

This role reports to the CEO and will lead a number of functions including Customer, Product and Platform Engineering. You will be instrumental in shaping Scorebuddy's technology, innovation, engineering culture and long-term strategic direction. 

Job requirements


What are we looking for
Required
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles
  • Proven track record of leading and scaling engineering teams in a high-growth SaaS environment
  • Experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering or equivalent senior technical leadership role
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution of technology and AI roadmaps

Technical Experience
  • Deep understanding of machine learning and AI techniques, including modern NLP approaches and large language models
  • Experience with generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation and vector databases
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices, model deployment and monitoring in production environments
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and containerised deployment strategies
  • Understanding of AI safety, bias mitigation and ethical considerations in AI development
  • BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical discipline
  • MSc/PhD is a plus, particularly with a focus on AI / Machine Learning

Leadership & Soft Skills
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business objectives into technical strategy
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong change management capabilities with experience leading organisational transformation
  • Budget management experience including technology investment planning and vendor relationships
  • Adaptability, curiosity and a user-focused mindset

Job responsibilities

What you'll do
Strategic Leadership
  • Business Strategy - Work closely with the leadership team to contribute to medium and long-term business strategy. Translate business goals into actionable technology and AI strategies that support company growth objectives.
  • Technology Vision - Define and communicate the overall technical vision and architecture for the platform. Guide strategic technology decisions and ensure alignment between technical capabilities and business objectives. Guide architectural decisions for AI systems and integrate AI capabilities into overall technical vision.
  • AI Strategy - Develop and execute a comprehensive AI strategy aligned with the product roadmap. Identify emerging technologies and research areas that could benefit the platform and guide implementation of AI solutions that enhance customer value.


Team Leadership
  • Engineering Leadership - Lead and manage engineering teams across Customer, AI, Product and Platform Engineering functions. Duties include recruitment, training, performance management and professional development with a focus on fostering excellence and innovation.
  • Team Development - Build and mentor high-performing engineering and AI teams. Cultivate an environment that attracts top technical talent and develop career progression paths for both engineering and specialised AI roles.
  • Engineering Culture - Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement. Drive engineering standards and best practices across all technical disciplines.

Technical Operations
  • Product Development - Manage the development teams to meet product roadmap goals. Work with product stakeholders to direct development of customer-facing and internal platforms.
  • Research & Development - Establish and lead R&D initiatives, balancing exploratory research with practical applications. Oversee the transition of successful experiments into production-ready features.
  • Infrastructure & Operations - Ensure high availability, scalability and performance of all systems. Establish maintenance, monitoring and infrastructure strategies that support business growth.
  • Operational Excellence - Develop and maintain technology budgets. Oversee resource allocation, establish project goals and timelines and develop metrics to evaluate engineering and R&D effectiveness.


Security & Compliance
  • Security & Data Protection - Ensure security of all information systems and data. Implement security-by-design principles across all development initiatives. Ensure security-by-design in AI implementations.
  • Compliance & Governance - Maintain all appropriate certifications and ensure adherence to government regulations and guidelines. Establish robust practices for AI ethics, data privacy and model governance.


Stakeholder Management
  • Product Alignment - Partner with Product Management to identify opportunities for innovation and AI-driven features. Collaborate on prototyping and proof-of-concepts to validate new capabilities and ensure initiatives deliver tangible business value. Ensure AI initiatives deliver business value.
  • Communication - Communicate technology needs, strategy and complex technical concepts to senior leadership and business stakeholders. Ensure alignment between technical capabilities and business objectives.
