Role Overview: The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) provides strategic leadership for the Information Technology function at Suffolk Credit Union. Responsible for shaping and executing the credit union's technology vision, ensuring operational excellence, cybersecurity resilience, and member-centric digital innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and executes a forward-looking IT strategy aligned with the credit union's objectives.
- Collaborates with senior leadership to integrate technology into enterprise initiatives and operations.
- Leads a team of IT professionals across infrastructure, operations, and cybersecurity,
- Manage relationships with vendors for other technical credit union hardware and software systems, such as ATMs.
- Oversees technical project schedules, assigns roles and oversees implementation for hardware and software systems and programs.
- Communicates with senior managers regarding the technological conditions of the credit union and initiates policy changes as necessary.
- Collaborates with other senior managers for site planning, product development, compliance regulations, and due diligence.
- Participates in, recommends, and tests the disaster recovery plan for the credit union's information technology infrastructure and operations.
- Resolves the most escalated information technology concerns of credit union members and/or employees with a goal of retaining membership and reducing risk.
- Responsible for the Fiserv DNA core processor including but not limited to; installing all patches and update releases, attaining answers on the system's capabilities, interaction with relationship manager, overseeing status of enhancement requests and open tickets
- Responsible for IT budget including submission and monitoring expenses against budget
- Ensures the credit union's compliance to state and federal rules and regulations pertaining to the operations of credit union.
- Achieves a minimum of "Satisfactory" rating on internal audits, external audits, penetration testing and examinations.
- Accomplishes the credit union's mission by completing relevant duties as needed when requested by management or other staff members.
Essential Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study. A master's degree in computer science or related field of study is preferred. At a minimum, 10+ years of extensive information technology experience, of which 5+ must have been in a supervisory capacity. Project Management Professional (PMP) and Microsoft Database Administrator (MSDBA) certifications are preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to function in a normal office environment with frequent interruptions by other employees.
- Must be able to sit frequently and use repetitive hand motions for typing.
- Must be able to communicate through speaking and writing, and use visual acuity for reporting and presenting information to other employees, trustees, credit union members, and third party
- Must be able to distinguish colors as pertains to lighting and wiring in a server room environment.
- Position may be required to travel up to 10% of time each month for site visits, conferences, and training.
- Position may be required to lift and carry a light weight of less than 50 on occasion as pertains to technological hardware.
- Position may be required to work prolonged and/or unusual hours.
- This position is eligible for our hybrid work arrangement policy.
