We are seeking a hands-on CTO to lead the development of our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions as we scale across Europe.
This role is ideal for a technically strong leader who enjoys building products, teams, and technology platforms in a fast-moving startup environment, while ensuring compliance with European and international standards.
What You’ll Do
- Own and drive the BESS technology roadmap from concept to commercial deployment
- Lead system design across batteries, inverters, EMS, and grid integration
- Ensure compliance with EU grid codes, safety, and international standards
- Support customer projects, tenders, and technical decision-making
- Attend events and give presentation on our technology and solutions
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering and R&D team
What We’re Looking For
- Master’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field
- Demonstrable experience in energy storage, power systems, or renewables
- Strong hands-on experience with BESS architectures and grid-connected systems
- Experience working on international or multi-country European projects
- Strategic mindset with a pragmatic, startup-ready approach
- Excellent presentation skills – also to large audiences
- Willingness to travel
- Fluent English and Finnish are required
