The Role:
You have successfully managed software developers with a wide range of experiences. Your expertise includes formulating product strategies in unison with cross-functional team leads. You are an empathetic leader with a track record of developing your team while delivering business results. Decision-making is in your forte, whether it's driven by complex data, user insights, or product instincts. You are an excellent partner for functions ranging across the company. You communicate well with people of different backgrounds, can manage expectations, and influence other teams' behaviours. You can scale an organization, clearly defining responsibilities while planning for people and team growth. You can demonstrate proficiency with Agile methodologies and a track record of implementing these principles to drive productivity and quality improvements. Hands-on experience with project and issue tracking tools such as JIRA, enabling clear communication and efficient project management across distributed teams. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitLab or Jenkins to ensure seamless, automated workflows from development to deployment. Practical knowledge of version control systems, notably Git, to manage codebases across multiple development streams. Demonstrable experience in development of cloud-based solutions and cloud migrations, in particular AWS and Azure. Experience in overseeing the adoption and operation of modern development frameworks and technologies to stay at the forefront of innovation. Demonstrable experience in implementing and using AI tools (such as CoPilot) to improve delivery speed and quality Experience with .NET environments and codebases would be highly beneficial.
About You:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of proven experience as an engineering manager or senior team leader responsible for direct line management of software engineers.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership, software engineering and architecture, including full-stack development.
- Mandatory domain knowledge in SaaS product development and methodologies.
- Excellent levels of both written and spoken English.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
