Whom we are looking for:
We are looking for an exceptional collaborative Fractional Chief Technical Officer with at least 15 years of experience to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a distributed engineering team, promoting a culture of accountability, innovation, and technical excellence.
- Architecture & Strategy: Define and evolve the technical roadmap, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with business goals.
- AdTech Expertise: Oversee development and enhancement of core AdTech components—RTB systems, header bidding, yield optimization, server-to-server auctions, and self-serve ad platforms.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, data science, and operations teams to align technical initiatives with company objectives.
- Data & Experimentation: Guide the development of real-time data pipelines, reporting dashboards, and A/B testing infrastructure.
- Infrastructure & DevOps: Modernize and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS, DigitalOcean, Snowflake, Redshift, Cloudflare Workers) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Innovation & Evaluation: Stay ahead of the curve by evaluating new tools, technologies, and integrations (e.g., identity resolution, privacy-first solutions).
- Executive Support: Act as a strategic partner to the executive team, contributing to customer conversations, roadmap planning, and technical due diligence.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a CTO, VP Engineering, or Director of Engineering in the AdTech industry.
- Deep understanding of programmatic advertising, DSP/SSP systems, exchange integrations, pricing strategies, and auction mechanics.
- Strong hands-on technical skills in JavaScript, React, PHP, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, DigitalOcean).
- Proven track record of building and scaling real-time, high-volume data systems and optimization algorithms.
- Proficient in modern DevOps practices: containerization, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud monitoring.
- Experience deploying and managing scalable infrastructure on DigitalOcean and other cloud providers.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fractional or advisory leadership capacity.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup or scale-up environment.
