About the Role
Role Overview:
As the Head of Technology Strategy, you will spearhead the development and implementation of a forward-looking technology strategy, architecture, and vision for a leading telecommunications organization undergoing a significant transformation. Reporting directly to the CTIO, you will play a pivotal role in modernizing IT and network systems, integrating advanced technologies, and supporting M&A initiatives to drive innovation, efficiency, and resilience.
This role demands a strategic leader with deep technical expertise, exceptional business acumen, and excellent communication skills to effectively engage stakeholders across all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Vision & Leadership:
Define, develop, and communicate the long-term technology strategy, architecture, and vision in alignment with business goals.
Review and refine the 1–5-year roadmap for network capabilities and IT transformation.
Technology Modernization & Transformation:
Drive innovation and modernization across IT and network infrastructures.
Implement advanced technologies to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
Oversee agile methodologies to accelerate transformation initiatives.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding.
Collaborate with leadership, vendors, and partners to identify and leverage M&A opportunities.
Risk, Security & Sustainability:
Ensure robust technology security protocols are integrated into all strategies and solutions.
Embed sustainability principles into technology practices and sourcing strategies.
Vendor & Contract Management:
Analyze the vendor landscape to negotiate and secure strategic partnerships.
Manage contracts to optimize cost, quality, and innovation.
Analytical & Financial Oversight:
Lead data-driven decision-making through strategic and financial modeling.
Monitor key performance indicators to measure success and guide adjustments.
Key Skills & Experience:
Technical Expertise:
Deep knowledge of IT, network systems, and architecture principles.
Familiarity with advanced technology trends, such as AI, IoT, and cloud solutions.
Strategic & Analytical Strength:
Proven ability to define and execute technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills to assess and drive decision-making.
Transformation Leadership:
Experience leading complex transformation projects, ideally in telecommunications.
Expertise in agile methodologies and project management.
Vendor & Contract Management:
Insight into the vendor landscape with a history of effective negotiations.
Security & Sustainability:
Strong understanding of technology security best practices.
Awareness of sustainability challenges and opportunities in technology implementation.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement:
Exceptional ability to engage and align diverse stakeholders, from technical teams to executive leadership.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 10+ years in technology strategy, architecture, or transformation roles, with at least 5 years in leadership positions.
Industry Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in telecommunications or related sectors is preferred.
